The two professors toured the Hospital History Gallery, gaining a comprehensive understanding of FAH’s development. They then visited the National Medical Center Exhibition Hall and were introduced to globally pioneering Magnetic Surgery System, comprising six major technological platforms. Both professors expressed high praise for the hospital’s achievements in medical technology innovation.
In the specialized Magnetic Surgery Ward, Associate Research Fellow Yan Xiaopeng from the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery introduced the clinical applications and recent advancements of magnetic surgical techniques. Following this, Associate Chief Physician Li Yu chaired the presentation of a complex postoperative case of abdominal trauma. Professors Gerard M. Doherty and Wang Jiping engaged in in-depth discussions with FAH’s experts on key issues such as how to accurately locate the source of bleeding and whether magnetic rings could help alleviate anastomotic stenosis. They provided authoritative plans and suggestions for the patient’s next stage of treatment.

After the visit, a discussion meeting was held in the First Conference Room of the Land Port Division. Participants included Wu Yue, Assistant to the President; Yao Yu, Director of the Department of Medical Oncology; Zhang Xiaozhi, Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology; Yin Yan, Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology; Li Qiling, Deputy Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Li Yu, Associate Chief Physician of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery; and Yao Hongmei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center.
